Aestheticians provide skin care treatments, hair removal, and beauty services. BC's wellness industry is booming — certified aestheticians with Red Seal credentials command premium rates and can build their own clientele or run their own studio.

Find a Sponsor Employer

Register with Skilled Trades BC and find a licensed salon or spa willing to take you on as an apprentice. Many aestheticians start as assistants before formalizing their apprenticeship.

Yr 1~1500 hrs

1st Year Apprentice

Skin anatomy, facial treatments, waxing, manicures, pedicures, sanitation protocols, and client consultation basics.

Yr 2~3000 hrs

Certificate of Qualification

Advanced skin treatments, body wraps, lash and brow services, product knowledge, and business fundamentals. CofQ exam upon completion.

RedSeal

Interprovincial Red Seal

Pass the Red Seal exam for Canada-wide recognition. Highly valuable if you plan to work or open a business in multiple provinces.
